Places to stay in Indonesia

Indonesia stretches across thousands of islands, and our places to stay are in three very different corners of it. Bali offers surf beaches, rice terraces and temples; Labuan Bajo, on Flores, is the gateway to Komodo National Park and its dragons; and Yogyakarta, on Java, is the country's cultural capital, close to the great temples of Borobudur and Prambanan.

Each destination page groups its hotels by area, with a short guide to help you choose where to stay before you compare prices.

Planning your trip

Seasons

Much of Indonesia has a dry season from roughly April to October and a wetter season from about November to March, though patterns vary between islands. The dry months are generally the best time for boat trips around Komodo and for beach days in Bali.

Getting between islands

Domestic flights connect Bali with Labuan Bajo (about an hour) and with Yogyakarta, and Jakarta has flights to all three. Fast boats link Bali with Nusa Penida and the Gili Islands. Allow for delays during the wet season.

Before you book

Visa rules and tourist levies for Indonesia and Bali change from time to time. Check the latest UK government travel advice (gov.uk) or your own government's guidance before you travel.
