Why it works for a stay in Bali

The Bukit's beaches and surf breaks are spread out, and many visitors rent a scooter to hop between them. A garden base with parking, a pool and a kitchen suits that independent style of travel, especially on longer stays.

Cemongkak, Dreamland and Bingin beaches are all nearby, and evenings can be spent at a cliff-top restaurant or watching the Kecak dance at Uluwatu Temple.

The southern Bukit has a mix of famous surf beaches and quieter, lesser-known coves. Cemongkak Beach, around 2 km from Adi's, is one of the latter, a small stretch of sand below the cliffs between Bingin and Dreamland. Further east, Pandawa and Melasti beaches are reached by roads carved through the limestone. Uluwatu Temple's sunset Kecak dance and the giant statue at Garuda Wisnu Kencana are other popular outings, and the airport is close enough for an easy first or last night. The restaurant on site is handy after a long day out.
