Laem Sor is on Koh Samui's south coast, a mainly local area of fishing villages, coconut groves and small beaches. The golden Laem Sor pagoda, standing right at the water's edge, is one of the most photographed spots on this side of the island.
The nearest beach town is Lamai, about 20 minutes away by road, and Samui Airport is roughly 40 minutes. From nearby Thong Krut, longtail boats run out to the small islands of Koh Tan and Koh Madsum for snorkelling.
