Why it works for a stay in Bali

Serangan is a small island just south of Sanur, linked to Bali by a causeway. It's quieter than the main resort areas, with a marina, a turtle conservation and education centre and surf breaks off its east coast.

Staying here puts you close to the ocean and away from the traffic of Kuta and Seminyak, while the airport, Sanur's restaurants and the boats to Nusa Penida are all within easy reach.

Sanur's beachfront path, a few minutes' drive north, is good for walking or cycling at sunrise, and its reef-protected water is calm. Nusa Dua's beaches and resorts are a short drive south across the toll road.

Serangan's turtle centre works on conservation and education, and visits help support it. For divers and snorkellers, the reefs off Serangan and Sanur are an easy introduction before trips further afield.
