About Mountain Peak Kintamani

Mountain Peak Kintamani is a peaceful stay in the Bali highlands, with comfortable rooms and views over gardens and the volcanic landscape. The air is noticeably cooler up here, a welcome break from the coast.

It's a practical base for trekking on Mount Batur and visiting the area's coffee plantations, according to the property.

Why it works for a stay in Bali

Kintamani sits on the rim of a vast caldera, with Mount Batur, an active volcano, and the crescent-shaped Lake Batur below. The view is one of the most dramatic in Bali.

The most popular activity is the sunrise trek up Mount Batur, which starts in the dark and reaches the top as the sun rises over Mount Agung and Mount Rinjani on Lombok. Staying nearby means a much shorter early-morning drive than coming from Ubud or the coast.

Afterwards, you can soak in the hot springs by the lake, visit a coffee plantation to taste Balinese coffee, or drive down to the Tegallalang rice terraces and Ubud, around an hour away.

The highlands are also home to Pura Ulun Danu Batur, one of Bali's most important temples, overlooking the lake. The area's fresh produce, from oranges to vegetables, is grown on the volcanic soil.
