See today's offersKoh Rong is Cambodia's second-largest island, a short boat ride from Sihanoukville. It's known for long white-sand beaches, clear water, jungle-covered hills and, on dark nights, glowing bioluminescent plankton in the shallows.
The island has changed a lot in recent years, with a road now crossing the interior, but it remains laid-back, with simple bungalows, beach bars and small guesthouses. The places we list range from social hostels near the pier to quiet bungalows on Long Set and Sok San beaches.

Most boats arrive at Koh Touch on the south-east coast. The island's other beaches are reached on foot, by boat or by road.
Best for backpackers and nightlife
Koh Touch is the island's main village and arrival point, with a pier, guesthouses, restaurants, dive shops and beach bars. It's the most social part of Koh Rong, and the busiest in the evenings.
Hillside bungalows above the village offer views over the bay and a quieter night's sleep, with the bars a short walk away.
Best for white sand and calm days
Long Set, sometimes called 4K Beach, is a long, curving stretch of white sand about 20 minutes' walk south of Koh Touch. It has a handful of bungalow resorts and beach bars, and is quieter than the village.
Best for long beaches and sunsets
On the west coast, Sok San village sits at the end of a long white-sand beach that runs for several kilometres, with views of the sunset. It's peaceful, with a few resorts, guesthouses and a fishing village.
Best for a quiet bay
Coconut Beach is a quieter bay with a small community and a few places to stay, reached by boat taxi or the island road.
Koh Touch for nightlife and convenience, Long Set Beach for calm white sand within walking distance of the village, or Sok San for long beaches and sunsets.
Yes. On dark, moonless nights, the plankton glows when the water is disturbed. Many guesthouses arrange evening boat trips to see it.
By tuk-tuk or taxi along the island road, which crosses the interior, or by boat taxi.
Yes. Boats link the two islands, and day trips visit Koh Rong Samloem's Saracen Bay and Lazy Beach.
Koh Touch can be lively, especially in the high season, but the island's beaches are long and it's easy to find a quiet spot.
The dry season, roughly November to April, has the calmest seas. Boats can be cancelled in rough weather during the rainy season.
