Places to stay in Cambodia

Cambodia packs a lot into a small country: the temples of Angkor near Siem Reap, the riverside capital of Phnom Penh, and a string of tropical islands off the south coast, the largest of which is Koh Rong.

Most of our places to stay are simple bungalows and guesthouses on Koh Rong, with a handful of hotels in Phnom Penh and a garden residence in Siem Reap. Each destination page groups them by area.

Seasons

The dry season, roughly November to April, is the most popular time to visit, with calmer seas for island trips. The rainy season, from about May to October, brings afternoon downpours, greener landscapes and rougher crossings to the islands.

Money

US dollars are widely used alongside the Cambodian riel, especially in tourist areas. Small change is often given in riel. ATMs are common in cities but scarce on the islands, so bring cash.

Before you book

Visa rules for Cambodia change from time to time; many visitors can apply for an e-visa. Check the latest UK government travel advice (gov.uk) or your own government's guidance before you travel.
